Objectives

Objectives

To start off with we were given a booklet to Identify our own strengths and weaknesses that we think we have so that we can look back and see if we have improved on anything or in some cases have not improved on.

We were also given our group songs to practice as our performance will be sometime in May. To start off with we just went through them so that we all so that we got to know the songs and it is an opportunity for the people who had not heard the songs before to learn them also. We were all then given a deadline for roughly a couple of weeks’ time to come back with all knowledge of song lyrics so that we didn't have to use lyric sheets to prompt us, which would then help getting started with the movement and staging of the songs. The finalized songs for the show were ‘Gone in the Morning’ by Newton Falukner, ‘Keep Your Head Up’ by Andy Grammer, and ‘School Song’ from the Matilda the Musical.

We also have to perform solos for the performance this wasn't compulsory but to get a full show we needed as many as possible. I signed up for a solo and thought I would see how it goes as I am not a very good or confident singer. So effectively if I get a stronger voice by the end of this term I will be able to perform on stage with no worries, hopefully. So I have started to narrow down what I would want to sing for the show, here are some of my options…
